Korean Culture Center
The Korean Culture Center is the axis of Korean heritage in Los Angeles. The Korean Culture Center welcomes the general public to experience the rich traditions and history of Korea through specialized programs, sponsored events, and multiple learning resources.
Brand Identity, Brand Manual
The rebranded Korean Culture Center identity was created to focus on the growing Korean American population of Los Angeles. Many of the growing Korean American population are children of immigrants. Children of immigrants often feel insecure trying to understand and identify with their parents' culture or America's culture. The new visual rebrand plays with the Korean language and uses language as a medium to bridge the two cultures together.
The Los Angeles demographic is changing and there seems to be a missed opportunity. Korean Americans may feel insecure with their cultural identity.
Create an identity that gives importance to the stories of those struggling with insecurity in cultural identity.
The KOR typeface was created to pay homage to both the languages that Korean Americans might be familiar to. This roman alphabet was created using the shapes and movement of the Korean letterform.
