My team and I were approached by Dr. Lo at UCLA Medical Research to create a platform for his EEG technology. During a 14 week term, we researched the possible platforms, and narrowed it the product down to a research platform. For the remaining weeks, we went through many phases of product concept sketches, wireframes, prototyping and user testing to create Scope. I was the graphic designer and the interface/ interaction designer.
The design and technology of the current EEG device limits the amount of discovery and innovation that can be made within this field. Research is therefore limited because of the constraints technology.
Bridge the gap between infield and clinical research for deeper and faster innovations and discovery. Aid the research process to aid research in other fields as well.
The branding is inspired by exploration. We thought we could approach brain exploration the way our culture explores space or the ocean. The brain has many extensive layers and there is so much to be discovered within the brain. The brain is like another world, therefore we wanted to treat the identity of Scope as such.
